Hark the Herald Religious Christmas Photo Card Challenge: 1-20 winners

We are so excited to kick off the 2022 Holiday Winner countdown with the Top 20 winners of the Hark the Herald Religious Christmas Challenge! We were so inspired by the innovative submissions and the many ways that our artist community reimagined traditional nativity scenes, biblical verses, and religious iconography. Each of the designs celebrates the religious spirit and foundation of Christmas in a unique way and we are thrilled to share this diverse assortment with our customers. Congratulations to the winners!




20th Place: Gloria! by Morgan Ramberg

Morgan Ramberg blends angels singing in perfect harmony with the hand-lettered hymn and arched photo space in "Gloria!".



19th Place: Joyful Photo Strip by Nicole Walsh

Nicole Walsh creates a clean, elegant multi-photo design in "Joyful Photo Strip."



18th Place: Silent Night by Leah Bisch

A striking nighttime color palette is perfectly paired with the traditional hymn in Leah Bisch's "Silent Night."



17th Place: Joy to All by Brandy Folse

Foil-pressed accents on painted leaves provide texture and add dimension to the botanical frame in Brandy Folse's "Joy to All."



16th Place: Divine night by Ghia Designs

Ghia Designs combines non-traditional illustration with interesting colors and an unusual photo placement, creating a stylish and totally unique look in "Divine Night."



15th Place: berry happy by Grae

This botanical frame pairs festive red berries with traditional evergreen branches, creating a classic Christmas feeling in Grae's "Berry Happy."



14th Place: Christ is Born Banners by Alethea and Ruth

In "Christ is Born," Alethea and Ruth cleverly blends the greeting into the illustration, a banner upheld by a host of angels celebrating the birth of Jesus.



13th Place: Ornamental sentiment by Creo Study

In "Ornamental Sentiment," Creo Study combines a deep background with delicate, precise details to create a striking forest scene.



12th Place: All Creatures by Amy Kross

Foil details add a sense of whimsy to Amy Kross' folkloric animals in "All Creatures."



11th Place: Dove by Julie Murray

The hand-lettered, foil-pressed Bible verse in Julie Murray's "Dove" is placed over a deep green background, creating a striking multi-photo design.



10th Place: Prayer of Peace by Sandra Picco Design

"Prayer of Peace" by Sandra Picco Designs allows the photo to stand out with simple and elegant, yet unexpected, text placement.



9th Place: Let Heaven by Kristen Smith

Kristen Smith pairs beautiful hand-lettering with a clean and simple sans-serif font to create a modern design with a vintage feel in "Let Heaven."



8th Place: Sparkling Joy! by Wildfield Paper Co

Wildfield Paper Company's "Sparkling Joy" features shimmering foil and whimsical details that shine like the spirit of Christmas.



7th Place: Darling Nativity by Hannah Williams

Hannah Williams' "Darling Nativity" features heavenly illustrations in a soft, delicate color palette, gently surrounding the oval-shaped photo.



6th Place: Joyful Forest by Jennifer Holbrook

A festive botanical spray, featuring a dove taking flight, frames the photo in Jennifer Holbrook's "Joyful Forest."



5th Place: Road to Bethlehem by Paper Sun Studio

Paper Sun Studio's "Road to Bethlehem" follows the Nativity story through a stunningly detailed landscape in dramatic blue tones.



4th Place: Minimalist Joy by Morgan Kendall

A simple, yet sophisticated, mix of serif and script fonts stacked atop an elongated portrait photo space create a classic and elegant look in Morgan Kendall's "Minimalist Joy."



3rd Place: Heavenly Forest by Petra Kern

Snowy trees, fresh berries, and peaceful doves give a sense of tranquility and peace in Petra Kern's "Heavenly Forest."



2nd Place: Heavenly by Benita Crandall

Dainty botanical branches, offset with an elegant mix of script and non-script text, create a sophisticated frame in Benita Crandall's "Heavenly."



1st Place: Journey by Sarah Knight

The traditional nativity story illustrated in a beautiful, non-traditional orange and blue color palette in Sarah Knight's "Journey."
